Peas in a Pod

Or dogs in a crate. Either way, it works for me.
I had no hand in this other than photo snapping. All JG on this one.

Oatmeal and Rye Biscuits

A spin on cooking with Sarah, we bring you cooking with Sarah for super spoiled puppy dogs.

Ingredients

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup rye flour
2 tbl sugar
1 tbl butter or margerine
1/2 cup milk

Mix all ingredients. Cover with Saran Wrap and chill for 1 hour. Roll dough out to 1/4 in. thickness and cut into your favorite dog themed shape, including bones and fire hydrants. Bake at 350F for 15 min. Turn off the oven and allow to cool in oven prior to storing in an airtight container. Use as bribery for furry creatures that bark in the night.

Verdict: Success, as shown by the eager look of where is treat no. 2 after the devouring of treat no. 1. Not that they are particularly picky so far as these things go... However -- wheat free and corn free for those who have issue with those particular grains. We'll be doing a double batch after I re-stock on oatmeal. After all, the puppy cookie jar is an important part of our kitchen.

Sugar Free Beer?

Ribs and Beer. Sugar free beer to balance out that BBQ Sauce. Yum. Way to spend a Saturday in the hood!
Stag -- marketed as sugar free for all those diabetic beer drinkers. no comment on that one. Bottled by the brewers who also bring you Old Style, PBR, and Milwaukee's Best. Need I say more.

Lazy Days..

It has been a while since I forced you to view puppy pictures. They've been lazing about. That is fo-sho!

M. appears to be calming -- chosing to spend a lot of time in her crate relaxing under the fan mixed in with some major barking to scare the butterflies and birds away.

D. is just D -- she is pretty consistent now. A rock, a furry shaggy rock.

They dealt with the latest crisis a heck of a lot better than me :) Of course they got the benefit of having me around for a few extra days. More on that later.

Onward Bound

This weekend we headed up 61N to Onsward, MS. There isn't much to Onward -- just the Onward Store!!! Onward also happens to be home to the Teddy Bear. The Cafe is home to some good cooking, and a little Teddy Memorabilia. We enjoyed some tamales (a culinary first for me) and boudain balls -- for those who don't know boudain is a pork and rice sausage, traditional to the Southern Louisianna area. Boudain balls are what happens when you fry the sausage up in a ball form :) Fun times!!

Weekend Well Spent

I think this summarzies our weekend.

Well, aside from some hulu.com we also enjoyed lawn mowing, fallen limb collecting, storm watching, scaring off the neighborhood riff raff with loud obsessive barking, and hanging with my peeps! In a news update: apparently Maddie thinks she is master of the remote. Little does she realize the power of being the food bringer.
