Hoosier Visitors

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of getting some visitors from up north. My cousin Abby and my biological non-niece Nora came down to spend part of their sping break somewhere warm. I can't say I blame them, South Bend was getting 8 inches of snow while we were basking in balmy 75-80 degree spring weather. This was the first time either Abby or Nora had stepped foot into the deep southern state of MS. They had an enjoyable trip down on the Amtrak, and we had fun times together.

I picked them up on Saturday afternoon, and we took a trip to Lorelei Books. HOw cool is it that Nora's face lit up and she got totally excited when we said bookstore!!! She isn't the product of two Literary People by chance, huh?

Sunday we made a day of it - first heading to the Park at Catfish row, a fun new park down near the Mississipi River. Seriously, parks weren't this nice when we were little!

No trip to Vickburg is complete without stopping by the Military Park!

Nora was particularly fond of my children, her last word the night of her first night here was Daisy. I think Daisy and Ma-sen listened to her better than to me!

We were very sad to see them go, although I think the Jersey Girls were pretty tired out! Until next time, it was a great trip!!
