Time for a dip

We've been walking by this fountain for two weeks now.  It was inevitable that we take a dip.  Daisy got a little warm and went in for a little drink... followed by a jump in.  Where Daisy goes Madison follows.  The rest is history.

2010 Stadium Tour Stop

I went to my first game at PNC Park this weekend. The list is now at: Old Commiskey, Wrigley Field, Minute Maid Park, Turner Field, Fenway, and PNC. I got to take in the park in all its glory during an hour and a half long rain delay. There were a few hard core fans out there. I don't get them. At. All.
During the rain delay they had  a text your message to the board thing going on.  My personal fave was "Clap if you Love Bacon".  That was far better than all the tween texts.  Someone also texted "Sarah is weird :c)". Hmm... Another favorite moment was watching the frat boys in the row in front of us tried to turn their poncho into a beach ball.  Classic hilarity ensued.

I also saw the infamous pierogie race!  We cut out at the top of the 7th, which was a good time since they lost.

Water Art

I rather like this fountain that we walk by during our after work walks.

Frick Park

It was a gorgeous spring afternoon so we headed to the dog park.  The dogs double deserved it since they didn't get much of a walk when I overslept this morning.  We went over to Frick Park, one of the three large parks in town.  Frick is more natural and wooded -- lots of rolling terrain that looks great for picnicing, trails, and an off-leash area for the quadrapeds.  JG's had  a great time.  It had been so long since they had played with other dogs that they didn't really play too too much with others. They were more interested in going sniffing without me pulling them back.  Whatever, it tired them out and they had fun!

Mt. Washington Mist

It was a gorgeous morning with gorgeous foggy mist on Mt. Washington in the distance as I walked to work today.

'Ulptures

I have had a thing for art for many more years that i would like to admit.  Just ask my parents about the Adler Center.  I also have a thing for public art.  We get to see this one during our afternoon walk to Heinz Field and Back.  Its actually a Vietnam War Memorial.

Groceries, Check

I survived a much needed trip to the grocery store this evening.  I have many good things to report.  There was an entire freezer of frozen pierogies.  This is impressive.  The cheese section pictured above was amazing.  Produce looked good.  Not too shabby on the healthy foods options as well.  And this was the regular giant eagle, not the giant eagle market that is supposed to be nicer.  Plus, the fuel perks are $.10 off a gallon for every $50 spent AND you can add them up and save like $1.00 a gallon after spending $500 dollars.  :)  Plus, the money spent on fuel translates back to a small percentage off of your groceries.  Smart stuff!  I fall for the ploy every time and will try my hardest to maximize these benefits.

A walk in the park

We have taken lots of walks along the river front.

Today we scared lots of geese and goslinges into the water.  not exactly sure why???

We tired ourselves out and had a little sitdown at the Confluence of the the three rivers.

Daisy was so tired out when we got back that she flopped over in the hall waiting for the elevator.

All in all, a fun time!

Stegosauras and Sarah

Discovered while exploring downtown: 1 Shiny stegosauras
Apparently a few years ago they had a Cows on Parade type thing with Dino's going on around Pgh. That explains the T Rex at the airport!

New Work Home

I let the door hit me in the @^! and left my cushy office with a door for this cube. I'm ok with it though. I have a computer, I have a phone, they both work. I can get into email. Apparently I hold the record for the fastest person to get up and running.

Best Sister Award

Goes to Kate!
Thanks for the New Job/New Town/New Life flowers! You are too awesome!!!

Sadly, I am not a best sister as I was so zombied out after walking the dogs last night that i didn't see them sitting on the counter. Hello, don't get flowers often, you would think I would be right on top of that rose... but instead i was being pensive and stuff.

Farewell

The folks at work had a little send-off for me this week! They were either really happy to see me go.. or perhaps really sad. They did bring in a band for the party! Unfortunately they also had a small incident involving the tent blowing away. High quality engineering!

At the very least we know that Virginia will miss me! When I left to go chat with some coworkers she told her mom she couldn't eat her dessert until I came back. Poor thing!

So Long

Last weekend Amy and Marie threw the most awesome going away party that Vicksburg has ever seen. At least, that is how it was billed! It was great to get to see everyone one last time and unofficially say goodbye. For those who couldn't make it, we missed you. For those who could, thanks for coming and I really do miss you already! The door is always open in Pittsburgh and I hope to get to see everyone again, preferably sooner than later.

The awesome hostesses and I with our lychee martinis, the drink of the night!
Chef Andy did a great job maning the grill despite his gorgeous apron and delicious drink!
Roasted marshmallows and Brownies were enjoyed by all!
