Preparations for the Great Move of 2011 have started.  Boxes are stacked.  Puppies are emotionally exhausted.

The pile of boxes has increased significantly from this level.  24 hours til I get the keys!!

Soda and the Beer Belly of America

So my friend Erin posted this picture on facebook the other day.  I enjoy that I am an anomoly in every county I have lived in.  Thanks mom for teaching me that it is soda:)

It reminded me of a favorite post of mine on Floating Sheep - The Beer Belly of America
I enjoy that Pittsburgh is quite an obvious Red spot in a sea of gold -- A spot of bar heaven.

Cuddle Muffin JG's

The JG's were getting comfy the other night while I watched HP7pt1.  (Can't wait for the next half this summer!)

The view from behind -- they really were cuddling.  I think D. was trying to comfort M since they know "something is up"  based on the tower of boxes in the dining room.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny made a stop at David's. Or his really awesome Girlfriend did.

102 Pierogies

Good Friday Pierogie Dinner was a success -- I was the saute queen.  I successfully got 102 pierogies across the stove top with minimal burning yet adequate browning while maintaining my kitchen instruments as onion-ed up and onion free to prevent death by pierogies to the onion allergic.  I'm pretty proud.  Most of the time I actually had 3 pans going at one time.  I choose not to comment on the amount of butter and oil used that particular night.

Hidden Dog Crouching Dragon

MS Walk

Last weekend we joined our friend Beth and her team for the 2011 MS walk in downtown Pittsburgh.  It was a gorgeous day for a walk - the best one they've had since my peeps started doing the walk. We started out in Point State Park, zig zagged around downtwon, took a trip over the Allegheny to the ball fields, and returned to Point State Park.  Beth was a trooper and made me proud to be her friend, baby Wyatt was a superstar getting such a long stroll, and it was great to see so many supportive people.  I want to give a huge shout out of thanks to everyone who donated to the MS Walk -- you are beyond appreciated.

Sarris Candy

We headed over to Sarris Candy the other night in an attempt to avoid the dreary rain and bring some happy into our world :)  There was soooo much candy to tempt a girl.  All the chocolate reminded me of the Hershey Exhibit we saw with our cousins at the Ben Franklin Institute when  I was in 4th grade!

08 April 2011

It has been a crazy day today at work. Should the budget not be passed, I will be furloughed, as many of you are aware. In dealing with the stress of not knowing our future, it was suggested that I checkout the twitter tag #govtshutdownpickuplines. wow. that made me laugh.

Some of my favorites included
  • Baby, the only thing nonessential about you is those pants!
  • Are those policy pants? Because your butt looks like it could use a rider.
  • Is that a Continuing Resolution in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?
  • Sure, the federal government will shut down, but like the post office, It'll still deliver
  • There's a Tea Party in my pants and everybody's coming
  • No, that's absolutely NOT a vibrating blackberry in my pocket
Completely inappropriate and completely hilarious.
