Yesterday was the 8th annual Vicksburg mardi gras parade - and my 3rd mardi gras parade in these parts. I give the town credit, they are getting better at this by the year. It is family friendly, nothing like te French Quarter, but otherwise, an all around good time.
Sandy had a party, and we celebrated in style. The parde was fun, as evidenced by the pictures... and hte food was amazing, as usual. I made the vanilla-berry bread pudding I brought last year. It was tasty tasty tasty. Other highlihgts included gumbo, dirty rice with venison, jambalya, dips and more dips, a couple of king cakes, pineapple upside down cake, and HURRICANES.
