Buffalo

We went up to buffalo for football last weekend to watch Pitt vs UB. That's U at B, because the town has no interest in owning that university.... It was raining like crazy, but if their fans can handle two story icicles, a downpour won't stop them from tailgating.

It was crazy being there- the stadium felt like high school. There probably are larger stadiums at high schools in Texas :). They even had a set of bleacher that had never been day in and covered with adds - they were supposedly installed so the team could qualify for division IA. Not exactly a proud win, buy a win no less despite rain and 45mph winds :)

Hill Country

In DC I met up with Kate, and we hit the Hill Country BBQ.  It was awesome!  Hill Countr reminded me of the real Hill Country in Austin TX :)  If you are in town, I recommend!

When in Kansas City there are a few things one must do.  Pretty much all I can come up with is eat barbeque and drink Boulevard.  I checked both off the list tonight.

Big Springs

Last week i went to Piedmont, MO to visit Clearwater Lake for work.  While in the area we took a trip to see the 'Big Springs' one night after dinner.  These springs were absolutely awesome.  They are the biggest ones in the Ozark Plateau.  The engineers and geologists i was with all enjoyed these -- go figure.  here are a few of my spectacular photos from the field trip.

It was great to see family... but at the end of the trip it was great to come home to my bed and my pupsters :)

Everyone cleaned up in the factory store on the way out.  I cannot even discuss the amount of candy that Matthew and David bought.  it is enough to make me a little sugar high just thinking about it.

Architectual Tour

Finally, we met up with my mom and brother and took an architectural boat tour on the Chicago River.  I've wanted to take one of these tours for years and highly recommend it for those playing the tourist role!

After the tour we headed over to Trib Tower for a little look around.  The really cool thing about Trib Tower is that there are stones and rocks from all sorts of famous/historical places around the country/world.  There was a stone from the battle of Vicksburg in The Park -- obviously I had to stop for the photo op.
